2025 Committed Players

Julie Dailey

Owner/Club Director

Hello, my name is Julie Myers-Dailey. Having grown up in Birmingham, I began my playing career at age 11 at Bush Middle School, going on to play for Ramsay High School, and finally choosing to play my collegiate career at UAB. I was fortunate to have had an amazing collegiate career as well as the ability to play after college with the USA program, professional beach and coaching collegiately.

I began coaching club in the offseason of my freshman year. My college coach asked every player to coach club, knowing that teaching the game consistently would only make us better players. I gained an instant love for mentoring and teaching the game which has become a lifelong passion. The 2022-2023 season will mark my 36th year of coaching volleyball.

The 2022-2023 season will be the 19th year of Alabama Performance. We have had several changes from Team Sting and Southern Performance to a 3 level club program now known as Alabama Performance, Birmingham Elite and Performance Youth Academy. We have grown to over 400 players within our club, fall training, rec and youth programs as well as over 100 players in Performance Beach and over 500 more players participating in our summer camp series.

Alabama Performance has produced over 250 collegiate players with 10 Collegiate All Americans and 5 players who have played for the USA program. Over the last 10 years, 98% of our players have made their school teams and Alabama Performance Fall Training built the foundation for an alternative Fall League across the southeast for those players not playing school volleyball. Alabama Performance has medaled nationally 14 times as well as having produced 26 AAU All Americans. Our Associate Director, Shelbie Dailey, has been named to the AVCA - Top Coaches Under 30 two separate times.

Alabama Performance strives to make sure that every player wanting to play at the collegiate level has the opportunity to progress to make that happen as well as produce the top high school and middle school players in the state. Our staff works tirelessly to make Alabama Performance, Birmingham Elite and Performance Youth Academy players the best players they can be while instilling a sense of family, comradery, respect, and love of the game.

At Alabama Performance, we work diligently to provide a family atmosphere where the girls and boys are loved and cared about, all while providing an atmosphere of respect and hard work. I want to thank each and every family that entrusts their children to our care and coaching. We take that job very seriously. Please know that we strive to make sure there is an individual focus on each player’s overall welfare and growth in the sport.

God Bless
