Performance Volleyball Center (PVC)

5539 Parkwood Circle

Bessemer, AL 35022

This program welcomes advanced volleyball players, Grade 7-12, with a desire to play collegiately. The atmosphere is focused and driven with a high level of expectation for every athlete. We compete against the most successful, and the best level of clubs in the country. The location of our tournaments is dictated by the pull of college coaches. We go where they go, which has provided a path for hundreds of girls to receive college scholarships.

Alabama Performance has won three National Championships and has had numerous All-Americans and JVA watch list players. This list continues to grow as the talent and the skill grows.

Mission

National level program. Win open level championships and medals. Players expect to play collegiately.

Birmingham Elite (BE) offers top-notch training and volleyball instruction for players Grade 7-10, beginner to advanced. The season usually runs November to April, except for Local teams which runs to the end of March. Middle school players (13U-14U) have the option to play for a Regional or Local team. Regional teams will travel outside of the Birmingham-Metro area, while Local teams only play tournaments in the Birmingham-Metro area. All 9th and 10th grade teams will be Regional teams. BE trains and plays at the Finley Center, except when they're closed for an event. In this case, BE will practice at the Performance Volleyball Center.

The Finley Center

100 Ben Chapman Drive

Hoover, AL 35244

Regional teams in this program usually travel no more than 4 hours away. The atmosphere is one of learning and growing to be the best player possible. It is fast paced and focused as each team works to make improvements. The players in this gym are looking to be the best high school player possible.

Tryouts for the club season will take place in late July/early August for regional teams. Local teams will register for Winter or Spring season.

About BE

Vision

Regional level program. Provide solid foundational skills, win club/classic level championships and medals. Players don't necessarily expect to play collegiately.

A volleyball career starts with our Performance Youth Academy (PYA) for Grade 6 & Under. The program accepts all athletes who come through tryouts with a clear understanding that children develop at different times and in different ways. With this philosophy we work hard to teach each player ALL skills, with no one position assigned to any player. We all set, we all hit, we all pass, we all serve.

The season starts with tryouts in September and practices beginning mid-November.

Practices are held at:

The Finely Center

100 Ben Chapman Drive

Hoover, AL 35244

The players will be taught various offenses and perimeter defense in preparation of school tryouts. The athletes will finish the season with a clear understanding of the game, using a heavy ball, and prepared for their own school’s tryouts. Once these athletes are graduating Grade 6, we help them choose which path to take in their volleyball career. Either join our nationally competitive gym at Alabama Performance for players Grade 7-12, or join our Birmingham Elite gym.

Coaching

Our Club Director Julie Dailey has over 35 years of coaching experience. Alabama Performance team coaches have either been highly successful college volleyball players, college coaches and/or have finished over 100 hours of Alabama Performance coaching certification. All coaches in our program are 'Impact Certified', 'Sports Performance Coaches Program Certified' and will have completed 40 hours of 'Alabama Performance Coach Development'. We have highly specialized coaches with an extensive background in volleyball as well as a minimum of 400 hours of coaching known as "Master Coaches". We have five master coaches in the gym with your child at any given practice. Your child will receive correct fundamental training with an emphasis on the technical aspects of each individual skill. Our coaches are trained and experienced enough to correct technical issues and rebuild them correctly. Each team is assured a coach with an extensive physical and technical background who is able to prepare our athletes for the next step in their volleyball career. Players are taught team offensive and defensive schemes to have them completely prepared for high level national competition. There must be a “systematic” approach of instruction to training with large groups for personal as well as team growth, that is what Alabama Performance excels with.
